Wondrously Wired

Wondrously Wired are two groups for neurodivergent young people – our Children’s Group is for children aged 8–13, and we also have a Youth Group for young people of 14 to 25, both offer a welcoming, relaxed and inclusive space to connect, create and have fun.

At our WW Children’s Group, we offer a range of different games, crafts and toys, with activity tables to choose from at the session such as Play-Doh, construction toys and crafts.

Our WW Youth Group offers a chance to connect, chat, create or play games, again with attendees choosing their activities according to what they enjoy and what makes them feel comfortable.

Wondrously Wired is about providing a safe space for children and young people to be themselves, a space to develop communication skills, social skills, confidence and independence.

See below for more information on Wondrously Wired meetings, then email us on info@enfold.org for more information on attending a meeting.

Please note, our Children’s Group is free, our Youth Group is £2 per session to help meet some of our costs.

What are the Wondrously Wired Children and Youth Groups like?

A typical session:

  • We set up the tables before everyone to comes in.
  • Welcome and introduce new members.
  • Everyone chooses their activities and move between tables as they wish. Crafts will change between sessions and all the materials are provided.
  • There may be conversation which could be talking about experiences of school, a sensory activity to start thinking about sensory preferences, creating support profiles, sharing about hobbies and interests.
  • Our children’s group may also have a game or something fun – this might be parachute games, the floor is lava or themed bingo.
  • Our Youth Group may have an organised activity, such as learning a new craft, but participation is always optional

Meet the Wondrously Wired team

As a team we have Autistic Spectrum Condition (and/or lived experience of Autism Spectrum Condition) and are passionate about ensuring services that are developed involve those with lived experience throughout the development as well as evaluating how good they are. This is sometimes called co-production, participation, or engagement. It basically means that the people who the services are for, are involved in things from the start, as well as saying how good it is.
